First, the product is an instrument or a tool. From this operational point of view the product should be designed so that it is good for the purpose. Second, the product relates to the subject. In this case the product belongs to the constitution of the subject and as such communicates the values and choices of the subject. The first aspect relates to the operations in regard to the object, but this second aspect relates to the operations in regard to the social context of the subject.
