Notes on the Preparation of Manuscripts

    Audience
"D+R" is an international journal that may reach across a range of disciplines. Authors should define terminology that is specific to their disciplines. Foreign language passages must be translated into English.

    Language
Authors are requested to send their manuscripts in two versions: English and their original language. No changes will be made on the original manuscripts on behalf of editors. If accepted for publication, the editorial staff will take care of the italian translation of the text.

    Acceptance
Manuscripts - in anonymous form - go out for review to three independent scholars. Authors are notified of the results of the blind review process and the journal's publication intentions as soon as it is practical.

    Details
The manuscript must be double-spaced throughout (including long quotations, endnotes and captions). The preferred length is a maximum of 5,000 words, or 20 pages, of text. The style should be clear and concise, using straightforward language.

top

    All manuscripts must include:

    • A cover sheet giving the author(s) name and affiliation. Since the manuscripts are evaluated as anonymous submissions, author's or authors' names should appear only on the cover sheet, not on the text pages.

    • Title (and sub-title, if any)

    • An abstract of 100-300 words, typed as a single paragraph on a separate sheet.

    • The abstract should be followed by approximately key words or phrases under which the article can be indexed.

    • A biographical note of approximately 100 words, typed on a separate sheet, should accompany the submission. The first line should begin with the author's name, position and address.

    • Illustrations should each be on a separate, numbered sheet. Digital files in most common formats are accepted.

    • Captions should not be attached to illustrations. Identify them with numerals. Type all captions (double-spaced) on a separate sheet: Figure 1. A prototype from the preliminary research phase.

    • Tables should each be on a separate page. Identify them with roman numerals plus title: Table VIII. Diagrammes of research priorities.

    • Bibliography items may be listed alphabetically at the end of the paper. These items are referred to in the body of paper using the In-Text style. These guide lines are based on the The Chicago Manual of Style 14th ed. rev. (University of Chicago Press, 1993).
