The
service design matrix: a tool for eco-efficient service design
This
paper introduces the Service Design Matrix an innovative tool to
aid the design of eco efficient services - within the framework of the Service
Design collaborative project between Electrolux Industrial Design and the
Eco Innovations Group, Cranfield University. This concept project aimed
to explore the design of eco efficient services and to define and develop
appropriate industrial design methods and techniques. Whilst presenting
one such tool the Service Design Matrix this paper will elaborate
on the design and collaborative process, highlighting the key events, some
design difficulties and dilemmas and some results and conclusions from the
project.
