Design
research in new media: strength through collaboration and partnership.
Research
projects that engage with new media have enormous potential for challenging
existing definitions of research and for expanding and enriching the research
culture of industrial design. Such projects not only ask for new skills
from the designer/researcher but they can also expand the skills and knowledge
of those commissioning the project. The project discussed in this paper
involves the production of an electronic annual report. Two levels of evaluation
can be reported: the evaluation of the 'product' and then evaluation of
the research method and design practice employed within the project.
