Using
Virtual Reality Techniques in Industrial Design
In
this article, it is argued that Virtual Reality (VR) techniques might support
industrial design and engineering design activities. A description of industrial
design work is given in the beginning of this article. Furthermore, design
theory related to product properties and product models is investigated
and a property icon is created. The term Virtual Reality
is defined and techniques for Virtual Reality are presented. We then contribute
ideas for how VR could be used in some specific development activities i.e.
identifying the problem, idea generation and structure synthesis.
