Communication Design: Research in the role of visual
translation and visual language an examination of
cognitive familiarity, the end-user and appropriate
meaning making.
This
paper views the designer and visual language produced as the mediation
between sender and receiver. Through the development of an appropriate
visual language, communication design seeks a common overlap for both
sender and receiver. Unfortunately, many graphic designers cloak the content
of messages in visual a language that is more inspired by current stylistic
trends or their own preferences. This contends that the user is stylistically
literate.
