The Research Context Departmental Active Research The settlement of the candidate in the doctorate course takes place with the identification of one or more research interests. In this way, the researcher will be framed in the context of the active areas of research. A very wide spectrum of areas of research exists within the department. They keep on changing, due to circumstances as available finance opportunities or emerging research needs or interests. Nevertheless a reliable map of the different areas of research may be easily traced referring either to faculty staff interests or to the Units of Research, being the institutional groups where the areas of research are developed.
