Medardo Chiapponi Fiammetta Costa Politecnico di Milano The contribution of industrial design research to innovation in health care Health care is an important testing field for the relationship between scientific research, technological innovation and industrial design. In other words, it enables the examination of the role of industrial design in the various phases of the research and innovation process (basic research, applied research and development, on the one hand; invention, innovation and diffusion, on the other). Indeed, health care has a series of characteristics, which make it possible to bring into focus several important issues of research in the disciplinary field of industrial design. The characteristics to which we refer are, in short, the scientific and social relevance of the chosen field, the instrumental nature of the afferent products, the multiplicity of users, and the weight of the technological aspects of the same products. ← back | download 16 Kb pg379.zip
